From the creators of The Marvel and B12 comes Wanda’s optimistic coffee. The only thing we know about her is that she doesn’t like vintage, she’s into California, she likes all kinds of audiences and is new in town. But who is Wanda?

It took Wanda just over a month to be to blame the neon lights that adorn Gregorio Marañón’s roundabout area, crowded with traffic, surrounded by offices and universities. Wanda is open all day long and aims to become a meeting point for the 11am coffee break for workers in the area, for writers looking for a space to work (there are sockets everywhere), for friends who meet Sex and the City-style (don’t miss the Happy Tsunami, Wanda’s flagship cocktail) or for couples looking for a cozy place to dine.

Wanda, decorated by renowned and hyperactive Parolio, aims to expand internationally and prefers comfort to fleeting trends. In the morning, it offers a wide selection of coffees, teas and juices accompanied by Bristish-style pastries, savory wraps or the famous salmon bagels. For lunch and dinner, Wanda offers a choice of easy options (scrambled eggs, salads, hummus, mini-burgers, pizzas) or more sophisticated ones (oxtail cannelloni, Peruvian sea bass ceviche, octopus and prawns, Iberian pork teriyaki).

When we asked the owners what is Wanda, they gave us an enigmatic answer: “Wanda is the metaphorical name of a summer affair that you never forget.”
