The centre of cities usually brim with franchises serving the same formula, as well as dull-flavored, colorant-laden ready-made food. In a quest to find good restaurants in the city, we found one of Barcelona’s best-kept secrets, the Visit restaurant in the Pulitzer Hotel. Visit serves a nice, delicious and healthy lunch set menu.

Visit boasts the Healthia certificate, which is given to hotels to guarantee guests the food served is healthy. There are a lot of locals dining at Visit, a heterogeneous group of young people, executives and female friends. Rafa Valle, who’s been working at the Pulitzer Hotel for ten years now, is responsible for one of the most complete menus in the area.

For 16.50€ (with extra charge for more elaborated dishes such as tuna tataki with salmorejo and crunchy leek shavings or grilled sirloin with fungi and truffle), you can try Rafa’s market healthy and tasty food, in the dining room or in the hotel’s interior garden. The local produce changes every month. Starters include artichoke cream and chips, quail paté, Port and cereal toast, chickpea pie with spinach and caramelized tomatoes or his legendary prawn and broccoli ravioli. As for main courses, we highlight grilled sea bass, calçot cream and romesco caviar (€3 extra), the classic Mr. Pulitzer 100% beef hamburger, or suckling pig cooked at low temperature with shallots and parmentier. Desserts here are among our favourites. Don’t miss their coconut flan and the coulis, the yogurt bavaroise with blueberries, the addictive chocolate crêpe with ice cream or the mango and passion fruit with Italian merengue.

Visit is closed at night but can be rented to celebrate meetings and other events. If you’re a guest, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a healthy bacchanal for breakfast with amazing views of the cities for 16.50€.
