The best time to visit the Costa Brava is any month except for August. The warm temperatures of spring and fall, far from summer’s sweltering temperatures, are the perfect allys to visit the area and enjoy the sun, the breeze and the sand at their best. If you have planned a getaway to northern Catalonia, or if this article encourages you to do so, we recommend you to stop at Tragamar, a Mediterranean restaurant located on the beach with a menu featuring seafood and lots of rice dishes.

 

Tragamar is a nice restaurant with a comfortable interior design by Sandra Turruella, blending traditional seaside decoration and modern design. It is the perfect ambiance to enjoy the menu’s food. Ask for a table on the terrace or, in case the weather is too chilly, pick a table by a window so you can enjoy the views, a real treat!

The menu features starters: classics chicken and ham croquettes, tasty grilled sardines or Bhutan potatoes. Other dishes include salads and the restaurant’s highlight: rice. Rice in Broth with fish and seafoo; with lobster or with sausage and mushrooms. However, given the restaurant’s location, it boasts an extensive fish menu, ranging from traditional recipes such as shrimp or grilled sardines to other more cosmopolitan dishes such as Suchi-style tuna Carpaccio, salmon tartar and tuna tataki with guacamole. As for desserts, don’t miss the classics Tarte Tatin, Crema Catalana or just Ice cream. We recommend you to take a look at the tips of the day, used to be pleasantly surprised.

A meal here is about 40 euros well worth paying if you get to Canadell Beach, one of Girona’s most beautiful.
