If you live in Gracia, you’ll probably know Syra Coffee, a benchmark in the area as far as coffee goes. If you don’t know it yet and are a fan of specialty coffee, go on reading, our friend, because this is a great hotspot.

Syra Coffe one of the best sites in Barcelona to enjoy specialty coffee

At first sight, Syra Coffee is not too striking, but once inside this small welcoming place and after the first coffee you realize that, luckily, first impressions aren’t always the best. Run by Yassir, Syra Coffee seeks to democratize good coffee in Gracia and in Barcelona. The coffee used here is toasted nearby for it to retain all its properties. One of the things we are most grateful of is that it is mostly a take-away business. If you like to drink your coffee on the go, drop by Syra Coffee.

In addition to coffee, there are also pastries and homemade sweets that deserve special attention, from Western options such as cheesecake, carrot cake—two of our favorite ones—, banana bread and brownies to Eastern ones such as orange blossom cookies, baklavas—a delicious pastry made with walnuts, syrup or honey, to deer antlers—with almonds, orange blossom and cinnamon. But if you are not so much into sweets, you can always order savory food. As we said in this piece a while ago, the third coffee wave is here to stay. This is indeed one of the best times in Barcelona to enjoy specialty coffee.
