Everyone remembers bodegas and old grocery stores fondly: they were close and they offered quality products. Sifón aims to recover that tradition model and give it a modern gourmet twist by offering artisanal and organic products. The site also aims to promote local commerce and recover the spirit of traditional Madrid stores. And we love that!

Located in Plaza del Rey, Sifón is not very big. It has high-tables inside and tables on sidewalk where guests can enjoy such delicacies as leek and ham sandwiches, artisan cheese board with tomato jam, fried baby beans with cockles or artichokes with clams. The menu also features amazing preserves such as stuffed squid, Galician white clams and fried pickled mussels. For dessert, we recommend Paular yogurt with honey hazelnut. Sifón also serves a set lunch menu consisting of a salad or a cream, tosta or sandwich and a drink. To wash the food down you can order craft beers and delicious vermouth with orange, siphon, olives and Angostura gin, as it should be.
