Some time ago we told you about Relats Curts, an initiative by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB)?kind of freaky but true?launched each year on Sant Jordi. This is the 8th edition of the event. At relatscurts.tmb.cat you will find more info about it.

This year the event comes with novelties: the Va pasar a TMB (It happened at TMB) category was created to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Barcelona Metro. Participants wishing to try their luck in this new section should choose a year between 1924 and 2014 to place their story in one specific means of transport. The contest website has created a timeline that includes all the stories sent, so among all participants, they will be able to build 90 years of stories that have taken place in the city’s underground area. The stories in this category can’t exceed 1.924 characters in a gesture which pays tribute to the year of the Grand Metro opening, the first metro line born on December 30, 1924.

You can also participate in sections Relat lliure?with one-page long stories in Catalan or Castilian, real or imagined on the bus or in the metro; Sant Jordi Tweet?where users of the social network can write 140-character-long stories with the hashtag #relatscurts; and Insta Relat, a section in which participants post their photo on the metro or the bus to their Instagram with the hashtag #relatscurts. The images are instantly uploaded to the contest microsite for the jury’s vote.
