Lovers of the finest Scandinavian design are in luck. Barcelona’s Nordicthink flagship store has just opened an exhibition featuring pieces from the new collection Normann Copenhagen 2014, a truly wonderful selection of furniture, lighting and objects of the Danish utility company, which is more than worth it!

I like to assess which parts of the piece can be made using traditional methods and which parts can be produced industrially

Normann Copenhagen is a Danish brand established in 2002. Here it is been known for its kitchen appliances and accessories. In 2009 they launched their first furniture line, but over the last couple of years they have really managed to create a diverse and comprehensive collection of furniture, including both small and large pieces. This collection definitely consolidates the brand with a unique, distinct style.

The brand’s strong point is a pristine blend of traditional craftsmanship and industrial styles. In the words of Simon Legald, one of the brand’s designers: “When I think of designing a product, I like to assess which parts of the piece can be made using traditional methods and which parts can be produced industrially. In order to get a good result, I believe there has to be a part of craftsmanship in the process.”

The Normann Copenhagen showroom in Nordicthink will be open until the end of the month: 32 m2 dedicated to Nordic design where you can see, touch and buy this great collection.
