If you can’t, take a look at French photographer Sacha Goldberger new project Super Flemish, which features a mash-up of fiction characters and the aesthetics of Flemish painting. Melancholic images, anachronistic outfits, dim lights and fantasy beings always willing to save or destroy mankind, seen from a different perspective: science fiction meets history of art and vice versa.

Through this series, Sacha Goldberger manages to perpetuate these fiction characters with a stately halo. The image lends them a certain significance and seriousness. It’s as if he suddenly positioned them in the place they deserve for their deeds. In the words of Goldberger: “The superheroes often live their lives cloaked in anonymity.
