Here is another vintage furniture store to keep in mind, especially if you live in Gracia. Over the past few months we have told you about El Recibidor, Fusta’m, Gidlööf, La Talenta or even posh Beriestain. Now it’s the turn of Matusalen, a store that owes its name to the oldest living person featured in the New Testament (it is said he was 969 years old when he died). The furniture at Matusalen is old, but not that old?
Established in December 2010, it sells vintage vintage furniture and a careful selection of second-hand pieces. The store’s owners, who have always loved fixing and restoring old objects?especially furniture and lamps?, attracted by their background history, decided to devote their business to give a new life to old furniture with a special charm. Although they are now located at the Central Ramón i Cajal, Matusalen was first located on Sant Luis street, though they soon moved due to their success and resulting lack of space, forcing them to search for a better place.
At Matusalen you can find everything: tables, lamps, bikes, hoses, phonographs, chairs, jewelry, dishes and more, all sharing a common feature: good taste. Prices are affordable, a rarity in vintage times. Although most objects are from the ’50s ’60s and ’70s, you can also find gems from the 1920s.
New pieces arrive to the store every week. Stay tuned on facebook or follow their blog!
