There are many interior design stores, but not all of them surprise us. One that we particularly like is Mar de Cava, a store run by technical architect Mar Gómez, who decided to open it after she was faced with the task of decorating her own house. Mar has now opened a bar-café-restaurant right next to it, the best way to combine the best design with the best food.

Over at Mar de Cava you can find the work of designers such as Jordi Milà (Barcelona), Drugeot Labo (France), the reinterpretation of the Mama Silla by Acapulco, Boca do Lobo (Portugal) and their pieces using traditional techniques and featuring modern elements; tables by Two/Bo made with floor tiles from the Eixample; the work of Dona Wilson (Scotland); terrace furniture by Lobster’s Day and paper furniture by Wijskamp; Apparatu ceramics designed by Alex Trochut, ceramics by Undergrowth Design made with Victorian molds and even crochet furniture by Josep Mestres. All pieces at Mar de Cava are exclusive.

The space displaying the pieces is worth visiting. It is impossible to say no to a burrata, tuna belly or goat cheese salads followed up by beef or salmon carpaccio. Mar de Cava serves breakfast, snacks, dinner and late-night drinks. A paradise for lovers of design and decoration, it is also a place to eat well. Exclusivity has a price, though.
