When visiting the bars and restaurants of Malasaña, one of Madrid’s more colorful and indie areas, you probably thought nothing could alter your educated palate. Since we know you always give a chance to food and you have no qualms about acknowledging a good dish, we recommend you La Bruta, a restaurant that, despite its name, is a must hotspot.

La Bruta is run by the same owners of the Italian restaurant Aió.

Alongside Andrea Bushell (a disciple of El Club Allard), they offer a menu with tapas and half-plates for sharing that includes tasty spinach or Cabrales cheese croquettes, lamb meatballs, spectacular humus, beef tenderloin with hazelnut mojo, oxtail and pumpkin ravioli, to be washed down with König Ludwig Weissbier Hell or Brutus the Beer.

An open, 150m2-wide, industrial-looking space that is suitable for both relaxed food snacking or long meals. La Bruta also serves a weekday lunch menu and brunch on weekends, one of the best in the area.   If you don’t believe me, try it!
