Haute cuisine at affordable prices? Yes, this is the formula adopted by the successful Gastrobar 3DLUX and its low cost menu. Located in the gay Hotel Axel (it can also be accessed from Aribau), the restaurant, like the hotel, is hetero friendly.


Introduced by Eduard Arola (Sergi Arola’s brother), it is run by Héctor Fábregas, who is in charge of cooking dishes made with market ingredients. The lunch set menu is 12 Euros although it is also possible to order a la carte. At night it becomes a little bit more formal, with tasting menus for about 35 Euros. While sitting in a 3DLUX table is not like enjoying a Michelin-starred restaurant, the value for money is remarkable.

The menu features ecological products, with dishes such as Marinated Sardine with Smoked Aubergine Foam, Caramelized Pine Nuts, Arbequina Olive Oile and Cumin; Wagyu Steak Tartar with Caramelized Foie, Apricot Sauce and Vanila Flavour; Suckling Pig cooked at a low temperature with Citric Celery; Yogurt Ice Cream with Passion Fruit Soup and Mint? The emphasis on nearby ingredients and tradition contrasts with an spectacular space-like interior design with fashion-forward furniture and state-of-the-art design by Jordi Aymerich.

A DJ will provide music during meals.
