We have a weakness for classic cocktails, so the opening of a new cocktail bar in Barcelona fills us with joy. Located on Muntaner street, in the heart of the Eixample (right below Diagonal), Fígaro serves delicious cocktails and finger-licking tapas. The ambiance is quiet, with jazz and soul music coming out of the loudspeakers.

Fígaro opens its doors at 9am to serve breakfast. Lunch and dinner are devoted to tapas and cocktails. The cocktail menu is the work of Roger Vilalta, who recently left his position at Banker’s Bar (Hotel Mandarin Oriental). The menu combines classic and modern cocktails, as well as some recipes of their own, with cava and the Caribbean playing the leading roles. Non-drinkers also have their own section.

With an elegant and cozy decoration, the place is small and coquettish, with glass windows showing Muntaner street. Fígaro is run by Pilar Líbano (the bar is named after Pilar’s parrot).
