Because we are what we eat, we are grateful there are projects like this whose aim is to take care of us. Even more so if it’s in a place with a cool interior design as El Huerto de Lucas in Chueca. This environmentally-friendly, healthy gastro-cultural project occupies over 450 m2 that are reminiscent of the classic food market. At El Huerto de Lucas you can shop for groceries but also enjoy dishes cooked by chef Javier Muñoz-Calero.

This environmentally-friendly, healthy gastro-cultural project occupies over 450 m2 that are reminiscent of the classic food market.

El Huerto de Lucas was designed using bio-healthy, toxic-free materials by More&Co. It is an island of nature and health in the city centre with a vertical garden at the entrance and hanging plants. Inside you will find fruits and vegetables by Semilla Nativa, Madrid organic meat, freshly-made juices and sprouts, cold meats and natural cheeses, Gelato & Co. ice cream, Dreagongly coffee and tea, organic bread by Harina, eco cosmetics and bio-healthy treatments.

In the Cantina—the restaurant—vegetarian dishes for celiacs and raw food are served, as well as meat and fish for omnivores. They are all made to be eaten in the market or to take away. For example, they have tofu fried milk covered with hemp seeds, crushed sesame seeds and sour sauce; mushrooms sheets, macadamia nuts, parmesan and millet paste; a delicious burger; organic fish with lentil vinaigrette or their amazing carrot cake.

Moreover, with the aim of promoting environmental culture, exhibitions, talks, workshops and pop-ups are held.

El Huerto de Lucas is a unique eco-gastronomic experience!
