What began with the creation of a single backpack by designer Jean Paul Gaultier for the latest edition of Eastpak Artist Studio for Designers Against AIDS (DAA) has evolved and grown into a complete and formal collaboration, a perfect fusion of Eastpak great benefits and Jean Paul Gautier’s artistic vision for a good cause.

Part of the proceeds raised from the sale of the collection will go to the platform Designers Against Aids

The collection of Eastpak x Jean Paul Gaultier evokes Eastpak’s military past and adds certain details such as bows and nods to corsets, Gaultier basic idiosyncrasies. The collection features seven backpacks, three of which belong to a limited and numbered edition which goes on sale in selected outlets on February 1st. The rest of the collection will be launched on April 1. All backpacks will have a patch sewn on the back to prove is a Gaultier original design, and part of the proceeds will go to DAA. On the occasion of this collaboration Jean Paul Gaultier said: “I believe the condom is the greatest piece of clothing ever invented. My message to everyone is simple: ‘Protect yourselves!’ I’ve been involved in the fight against AIDS for many years and will continue to do so as long as long as necessary”.
