Ariana Díaz Celma

Carlota is not only the name of one of our favorite restaurants of the month, but also that of its creator, a cheerful chef responsible for a cheerful menu. Mother of two, an entrepreneur and a charming hyperactive woman, Carlota

Carlota starts each morning serving breakfast. Judging by the length of the menu, she also probably thinks breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You can have bagettes with local ingredients, sweet and savory crêpes, ham&cheese sandwiches ‘made with ??all her love’, tortillas with one or more ingredients, pastries, homemade cakes that make your stomach roar at a glance, or fork breakfasts, ranging from classic fried eggs?a house specialty?to tripes.

Carlota continues to arouse passions and appetites at noon and at night. Some of the dishes we are still fantasizing with are her croquettes, cooked according to her granny Victoria’s recipe, or the twice-cooked foie with spelt bread, onions and grapes. But don’t leave without trying her free-range eggs with Iberian sobrasada or with mushrooms and truffle butter. Carlota also serves sea delicatessen such as Blue Finn tuna sashimi, our favorite, and other recipes that remind us that Carlota has a weakness for the fusion of traditional and Asian foods. Proof of that is the xató served as a maki roll or the chicken-stuffed Wantoon cannelloni. Especially tasty is the Girona beef burger with tail and cheese sauce. We recommend you to leave some room for dessert and try such delicacies as custard bags with orange marmalade and basil.

You will be thankful! A meal at Carla is about 25/30 euros. Very well invested!
