We are natural-born urban explorers. Our latest discovery is a haven of peace and tranquility located at a stone’s throw from the Casa de les Punxes, one of our favourite buildings in Barcelona. The Cafetería Clarés has a certain Frenchy air and dozens of cabinets with cakes, cupcakes and bakery wares for the delight of people with a sweet tooth in the area and beyond. Its fortunate terrace adds even more points to such a privileged space, the kind of terrace for which you won’t mind paying an extra for your order.

The Cafetería Clarésopens early in the morning to serve delicious breakfasts?natural juices, butter croissants, homemade cakes, cookies and all what lovers of the petit dejeuner can imagine. The repertoire of sweet foods is so extensive that it takes a while to go through it and make up your mind. But it’s not all about sweets. There are sandwiches and small plates for those more keen on salty food.

For lunch they serve a menu for 11 Euros. Pastas and carpaccios combine with richer meat and fish dishes. Although the menu has nothing to complain about, the dessert section is perhaps the most attractive. The Mascarpone and the Coffee Crème Caramels are the absolute protagonists along with their homemade cakes. And the same goes for dinner time.

Coffee time and snack time are also great moments to drop by Cafetería Clarés.
