Bershka has been featured in our Fashion & Beauty section several times. Bershka‘s campaigns’ change of image and design ?don’t miss the video lookbook Meet Me in Rio SS14? have extended to the first image store in Valencia. Bershka has opened remarkable stores in cities like Milan and Berlin. Now it’s the turn of Valencia, which has the most sustainable store in Spain, with a store on Calle Colón 32 that holds a LEED Platinum certificate. We love this kind a projects, so we dropped by the opening.
The new Bershka store is one of the largest of the fast-fashion firm: 1307 m2 divided into two floors for the men and women collections. Every inch of the store is environmentally friendly, build with certified wood, natural tails, locally sourced materials and recycled content. For example two three-metre-long mats made from recycled tires, photovoltaic panels on the skylights to generate electricity so that the store consumes 30 percent less energy and to the possibility of having natural light. As if this were not enough, the store has LED bulbs, low-flow faucets and a system for recycling gray water and 25 percent of rainwater for cleaning, which reduces potable water by up to 75 percent. Moreover, air conditioning is 100 sustainable, which is very rare today. The best? The bicycle parking at the entrance. We are pro-cycling and love these kinds of details.
The opening event featured a good2b-friendly line up: Dorian and BeGun, a exceptional soundtrack to get to know the new store and the first Bershka cosmetic collection. We also discovered his first fragrance, which was launched on the same day worldwide. The bloggers CollageVintage, Trendy Taste, The Petit Coat or StellaWants2Die were also present, as well as Barcelona’s specialized press and influencers.
The building in which the store is located dates from 1870-1880 and belongs to the Valencia Neoclassicist style. To learn more, check out social networks and look for the hashtag #iwasherevalencia to see what happened there. Below, some pictures.
