The prestigious Grupo Shikku has opened a new Asian restaurant right in the Salamanca district called Bam Bou. The menu proposes traditional cuisine from Canton, recognized worldwide as one of the most prestigious regions throughout China in terms of gastronomy, adding some modern patterns from our chef Zhiua He.

Bam Bou recipes are healthy, simple, balanced, varied, elegant, and exotic. It doesn’t matter if you’re familiar with many of the menu’s dishes because the Bam Bou experience is completely new. At the bar, David González will delight customers with national and international cocktails.

Elegant and comfortable, the restaurant is decorated in shades of lilac and purple. It has wide tables sensibly separated from each other, and sofas for those who prefer to relax even more while enjoying their food. There are several ambiances at Bam Bou: a cocktail bar, two dining areas, a private area with room for 14 people and a large terrace.

The menu is quite varies. For starters, we recommend the Crispy Won-Tun. Then try Dim Sum and Siu Mai, especially the beef & truffle and the scallop options. We also loved the Spare Ribs and their tasty and succulent meat. Of course, the menu includes rice and noodles, surprising and exclusive dishes such as the turbot papillot with Chinese mushrooms and vegetables and the Pekin duck served with pancakes, spring onions and cucumber. All dishes are abundant, colourful and delicious.

As for desserts, we recommend you to try the Chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream and the Fine apple tartlet with vanilla ice cream. The menu also includes a very interesting section with teas and infusions.

The wine section is not very extensive but includes a right selection of bottles. The cocktail menu features original cocktails such as Tangerine and Yuzu Kaipiroska, and other traditional ones including Bellini with peach liquor and a selection of non-alcoholic drinks like the Smoothie Bam Bou with red fruits, green apple and Chardonnay grape juice.

The Bistro menu is 35 euros and the Bam Bou menu is 45 euros. The restaurant also offers a take away service.

If you like Chinese food, Bam Bou is your place.
