Ecoembes, the environmental organization that supports sustainability through recycling, has launched a very special magazine called Ballena Blanca that focuses on the environment and the economy, a rather peculiar pairing.
Created by journalists Sara Acosta, Álex Fernández Muerza and Clemente Álvarez, Ballena Blanca’s aim is to intervene in contexts dominated by monetary criteria and where the environment is not taken into account to give it a voice and change the world.

These experts in the environment and the economy got together to devote their minds and energies to drawing the attention of the public sphere to environmental issues, which mass media often don’t prioritize, with an original approach consisting in combining two interdependent areas. Their mission is to protect the environment through the economy. “We want to give a voice to the increasing number of people who are seeking for a paradigm shift in which the environment is not a burden, but a necessity. Because without the environment, there’s not economy.”
This whale, a majestic free animal that infuses respect as well as admiration, responds to a need to read very specialized and rigorous content to meet very specific information needs. The magazine is printed on recycled paper and features pieces on a multitude of topics.Ballena Blanca is undoubtedly a big surprise to anyone who reads it for the first time as it is an innovative way to expand their audience and achieve their goal.
