As of late, hotels are showing interest for opening some of the most sophisticated and tempting restaurants of the city. In some cases, the desire comes to nothing due to the impossibility of giving them a personality of their own in parallel to the hotel’s. But this isn’t something Ático, the restaurant at The Principal Hotel, should worry about.

Located on the Gran Via, on the sixth floor of the hotel, it offers exceptional panoramic view of the city. The menu, the work of Ramón Freixa, is served in an atmosphere of minimalist lines created by the Barcelona-based studio Luzio, run by Pilar García-Nieto, which marries perfectly with Freixa‘s contemporary dishes.

The elegant and sophisticated menu includes classic Mediterranean dishes and specialties made with top-quality produce: Castilian soup with truffled yolk and live black garlic noodles; Potato ravioli stuffed with shrimp and Ganxet white beans; Coca with porcini, foie gras, apple and sardine; Surf-and-turf roasted octopus with cream of Jerusalem artichokes and marinade; Cod confit with piquillo peppers, cream of mussels and crunchy breadcrumbs; Socarrat rice with ground pork and baby cuttlefish; Slices of glazed veal shank, sweet potatoes, mushrooms and chestnuts or Roasted monkfish with spice crust and creamy marine soup.

After the meal, delicious desserts and drinks can be enjoyed to the tune of the DJ resident. You will come back for sure.
