Some time ago we referred to Acontraluz, a restaurant located right next to the Tres Torres train station. Good2b recommended it not only for its wonderful Mediterranean-based menu, but also for its fine decoration work, both in the warm interior and in the garden. But Acontraluz has also conquered us with its proposals for 2013. Good2b returned to the restaurant to taste the Tartar Thursdays, but we will some go back to enjoy a second adventure consisting in a secret menu, which only those with a password can enjoy?
The Tartar Thursdays (#juevestartaros for Instagram) struck as an absolute success because we are die-hard fans of this fish. The experienced improved even more when we learned that the menu came with a series of gin & tonics with different gins. We tasted four tartars and four gin & tonics. The tasting menu begins with vegetarian tofu tartar with fresh escalibada and lumps of tofu and a Bombay and Fever Tree Mediterranean gin & tonic with cucumber. It is followed up by salmon tartar and a gin & tonic with Bombay Sapphire with pink grapefruit and pink pepper Schweppes, which fits the salmon tartar perfectly, flavour- and colour-wise. The best dish came afterwards: a classic steak tartar with a gin & tonic with Oxley and ginger and cardamom Schweppes. And last but not least, a beef tartar with foie and a rin-tonic, made with G’vine fashion, black grapes and Indian Fever Tree. And now the surprise: you can enjoy this feast for 26 euros, which also include a DJ session by DJ Monica. We were delighted because they played ?Cocaine Blues’ by Escort, one of our favourite songs right now.
And, as promised, we tell you how to get your password to enjoy the Secret Menu. The only requisite is to have a profile in a social network. When booking a table, you will be asked for a code. They will give you a voucher worth 30 euros to spend Monday to Friday at lunch or dinner time. Our password was ?Buganvilla’ (Bougainviella), but we recommend you to check the restaurant Twitter or Facebook pages before going.
Good2b highly recommends this initiative as it allows customers to enjoy a meal that is usually worth 40 euros.
